Meet The Founders
Vijay Verma, a distinguished Corporate Consultant and Company Secretary, has spent over five decades shaping professional and educational ecosystems in Central India. His leadership played a pivotal role in introducing renowned institutions such as NIIT and NIS to Nagpur, and his contributions as trustee and mentor at Modern School further strengthened the region’s academic foundation.
Building on this longstanding commitment to quality education, he identified the growing relevance of the event industry and the need for structured professional training. With this foresight, he brought the franchise of NAEMD — Asia’s leading event education institute — to Nagpur in 2004. This initiative established Central India’s first dedicated event management academy, marking a significant milestone in the region’s professional education landscape.
Under guidance of his father, Nilay Verma stepped into the world of events in 1997–98, beginning as a hobby that soon evolved into a passionate profession. To refine his craft, he pursued a Diploma in Event Management from NAEMD Ahmedabad and later specialized with a Master’s in Wedding Planning from TAFE University, Australia.
Seeing the lack of professional training opportunities in Central India, Nilay worked with guidance from his father to bring the NAEMD franchise to Nagpur through Shri. Pravin Joshi and Late. Dr. Hoshi Bhiwandiwala—iconic pioneers of the event education industry in India.
Manisha Malu began her journey with NAEMD Nagpur itself, being part of its first-ever batch in 2004. Equipped with her event foundation from NAEMD and a specialization in Wedding Planning from TAFE University, Australia, she launched KSHAN in 2006—one of Central India’s most prominent social event and wedding planning companies.
In 2008, Kshan merged with Refuge, and Manisha became a full-time Director at NAEMD Nagpur. Her story beautifully reflects the institute’s spirit—a student who learned here, grew here, and now leads here, shaping the next generation of event professionals with experience, empathy, and excellence.
Today, Manisha leads the planning, design, strategy, and day-to-day operations of the institute. Her contribution to the events and wedding industry has earned him numerous accolades, including Champions of Change Award from then Hon. Vice President of India Shri. Venkaya Naidu, recognition from The Indian Chamber of Wedding Fraternity, the Event Management Federation of India, and several other esteemed bodies.
Guiding NAEMD Nagpur’s classrooms and live projects is Rachna, Faculty Head – Event Management. A veteran across weddings, brand launches, exhibitions and concerts, Rachna blends creative vision with on-ground precision. Backed by our industry partner Refuge Events & Weddings (26 years), she ensures every learner gets real exposure—shadowing pros, handling checklists, coordinating vendors and managing show flow on actual live events.
